Young Pet Exam

Welcoming a new puppy or kitten into your household is an exciting and very important event.

With needs that are quite different compared to adult dogs and cats, we have special exams catered just for puppies and kittens.

Depending on age, three to four visits are recommended, starting at 8 weeks of age, for both puppies and kittens.

During each visit, your veterinarian will conduct a thorough physical examination to assess your puppy or kitten’s overall condition of health. We will review any records and/or vaccine history that you may have and will also discuss the following:

Diet and feeding schedules
House training concerns
Grooming and sleeping habits
Activity level
Chewing or biting behaviors
Parasite prevention and control

Depending on age, weight, previous vaccination history and the health of your puppy or kitten, we recommend the following vaccination schedules:

Deworming
Start Heartworm Prevention

Second Visit

Comprehensive Puppy Examination

Bordetella (Kennel Cough vaccine)

Third Visit
